It was trial day today

I called a few companies awhile back and get samples of different rubbers as well as a sample of glass gleam 4 (GG4). Today I was cleaning the inside and out of a convention center and decided it would be the perfect trial grounds. So what I was trying today was Ettore rubber 14", Steccone 12", Pulex 14", and an Unger soft rubber 14" and I put the GG4 up against my usual Dawn. I was not as impressed with the GG$ as I expected I would be, it worked great on the outsides where I could drench the windows and paired with the pulex rubber I could have won some speed cleaning competitions. As for the insides I felt that the GG4 didn't provide the needed glide when using a drier mop. I will say though that I did notice that when I left a spot of water on the glass it cleaned up much easier and better with the GG4. The Dawn is Dawn and I have no complaints about it except that water left on the glass didn't clean up as easy as the gg4 ( a complaint I didn't know I had until today). Other wise though I was very happy with it, I was staring into the sun all day and couldn't see signs of any residue left behind as people say dawn will do. Towards the end of the day I mixed it up a bit and started adding dawn to my GG4 and I did hit a sweet spot where I had great glide without as much water ( I say not as much because on the insides I don't make it run down the glass).

On to the rubber!!!

Ettore is my tried and true, I've used it and it alone for along time now. It does a great job and I've had rubbers last for weeks, I do notice that when I turn to close it tends to skip and leave water on the glass, I always assumed this was just user error and was on me, but today I will place that on the rubber. The Pulex rubber has a much faster action than the Ettore. They both cleaned the glass and lasted all day (I'm will update later when I finally dull an edge on either of these) I just felt that the Pulex rubber turned much better than the Ettore and left less detailing to be done. The Steccone rubber wasn't bad, It's very comparable to the Ettore in my opinion. The Unger Soft rubber wasn't worth my time and I actually went back and re-cleaned most of the windows that I cleaned with that rubber. As I was going it seemed to be cleaning alright but as soon as I switched to the other side of the glass I noticed that there were a lot of streaks. I put that rubber away after that as I really didn't want to have to clean more glass than needed. Over all for the rubbers for now I'm going to continue stocking the Ettore (they havn't let me down yet) but I'm also going to be ordering Pulex and if I continue to like them as much as I did today I might switch to them over all.

I just thought I would share my findings today. If anyone has any input, thoughts or their own experience I'd be really interested in hearing it and if you think there are other rubbers I should try in the future please let me know. I hope this is helpful to someone out there and at least interesting to others.
