If they say ".....If you want to leave us/me your card......" Beware! In my long experience, this really means "I'll take it out of courtesy, but really, you're never going to hear from me or anyone who works here or owns/manages the place ever again." In fact, I usually just say, in such cases, that I left them in the car, and then I don't come back to give them one. I've never had anyone call me as a result of leaving a card behind under circumstances when they asked for it. Not once. If I'm doing business with someone already, maybe if the manager isn't in, or if I'm networking and meeting other business professionals, then I 'll leave one or hand one out. Otherwise, under some circumstances, it's admittedly waste of paper. It's also not necessarily a good idea to hand them out like candy anyway.
Anyone else have conditions under which they will NOT hand out a card?
