Okay so I am new to the game but making steady progress in my search for work and new accounts. Sometimes, as we know, you have to be persistent in working a potential customer......sometimes you have to keep going back until you catch the boss, for instance. But it's already getting to be quite a task to manage and keep track of all the leads I'm developing as well as keeping track of al the ones I already have and making sure they get served in a timely manner. I am seeing the day approaching when I am going to have to get them timed so they form a route for every day of the week. But not just yet, not enough of them.
So what's your method for managing all of this? We all have to keep track of a LOT of them in order to have a profitable route for almost every day of the week. Me, I have a 3x5 card box with a bunch of 3x5 cards in it, one for each customer or lead I'm working. On each card, if it's a lead, I write down in excruciating detail who I talked to there and when, their phone number, the boss's name if they're not in, what estimate I gave them, everything. Of course these as well as regular customers tend to pile up after a while. As it is now, I go through the cards every night, write down an agenda for doing what I need to do with the ones who need something done with them, then do what they need doing the next day. But how do you guys handle this?
