I have searched the forums with little luck on this topic. My company does some commercial high rise and we are covered under a liability insurance for high rise, its Harlysville Insurance out of Pennsylvania. Anyway, they no longer cover over 3 floors, but since we got in with them long ago, our plan is grandfathered in. We have not been happy with them for a few reasons and we wanted to shop around, but our agent is telling us it is very hard to find companies that will cover over 3 floors, and that he'd check but he would probably have to find a specialty company that would cost a lot (We currently pay a little over $3,000 a year with 1 million liability per incident, 1 million umbrella, care custody and control clause with total $5000 coverage, and a few additional insured companies. It's adjusted yearly after a payroll audit.)
Do any of you high rise guys know other companies that over rates for over 3 stories with prices that aren't astronomical? If not I'll just have to stick with the current company, but I'd like a couple other options.
