So the only time I have scratched a window (very minor) was with a scrapper (a bit of rust and no new blade I was in a rush, yatta yatta), and I whenever I come across windows that are scratched it is always the painters that over sprayed and mess up the glass trying to clean it up. With that in mind I pretty much stopped using a scrapper all together. Basically if someone says i scratched their windows i have a 'policy' to fall back on that I don't use anything on their windows that could possibly scratch them. I saw a post on the plastic scrappers blades, is it a safer option?
I realize it is really about technique, and using it properly a scrapper shouldn't scratch, but is a plastic blade cheap insurance? Just an extra protection from scratching the glass.
