Bad dog

I have a regular customer that I have been servicing for 4 years. They have two great dogs that have always been very friendly and easy going. The wife's mother has been ill and had to be put in a home, so they inherited her fearful chihuahua that is a BITER. It barks at me or any other person who enters the home (aquarium service, electrician, etc.) and nips at our ankles. If I wore jeans to work in the very hot Summer it might be different, but the little crapper is actually teeth on skin! It has yet to draw blood, but worse yet is that it gets one of the other dogs all worked up (40+ lbs?) and joins in on the barking/intimidation thing.

Being a dog owner and long time believer that family pets have rights to the home when I am a guest (worker) and don't normally deserve to be caged or "put away" for hours. But this is the first time I have had to actually gainfully keep a dog from biting me with my step stool and towels as barriers. Not to mention the bigger dog, which was calm and friendly until this, is now taking sides with the little ankle biters attitude.

I know that I will have to request for the "little crapper" be put away while I am there working - the other two dogs are super fine always, except for LC's instigating behavior.

Anybody else ever have issues with homeowners pets being fear biters?
