Question "Stuff" in your way

Hello, What do you guys and gals do when you arrive at a house and there are tons of "stuff in your way. I don't mind moving a couch out just enough to clean the windows but a table with 20 little pictures on it takes too much time. I know I should ask them before I get there but sometimes I don't. I seems sometimes they expect you to move everything and it's all your problem.
