Do you do reminder calls?

So this has been a rough week for me. I've now had two jobs forget I was coming and reschedule and I've had two cancel and reschedule at the door due to rain. Everyone has rescheduled but that $1500 that I didn't make this week. Does anyone do reminder calls to make sure the customer doesn't forget? If so how do you keep track and how do most customers take it? Most of my jobs are scheduled within a week so it seems redundant to call three days after I talked with them.
