So as the title says I'm looking to see if anyone has any experience buying out their competition? one of my main competitors, Is an older guy that has been in town here for a long time. Since I started my business I'd been hearing rumors that he will be ready to retire pretty quick. Well, today I got word that he hurt his shoulder last month and hasn't been working much so I'm thinking about calling him and seeing if he might be interested in working something out.
If anyone has any advice at this point it would be greatly appreciated.
I don't have much money on hand, but I was thinking about seeing if he would be interested in taking 15-20% of the profit I earned from customers on his customer list over the next 2 or 3 years. I'm curious what you guy think of that? is it a fair offer or should I up it or lower it or what's your take on it.
