Something new

I have a regular customer that I clean windows on his 2-story home and hang and remove acrylic storm covers every hurricane season. This year he had the house painted. The painters painted every bolt-stud sticking out of the walls that hold the acrylic panels snug to the house. I cannot get the wingnuts to thread because any volume of paint would prevent that, and it was painted on fairly thick.

The painters wife is in the hospital and his daughter is sick so getting him to come back out to fix what he did isn't happening. So, the homeowner wants to hire me to clean the paint from all of the bolts in order to then hang the acrylic panels up as we are in hurricane season now.

Anyone have any experience with how to remove the paint easiest? I'm thinking treat each one with paint thinner and wire brush, but may be labor intensive.

Suggestions?
