So I just had this job with several panes needing hard water removal from bore water sprinkler.
I started with a product made for window cleaners it was called liquid gold, I used it with success on the 1st window(4 panes) however it took around 15 minutes to get it cleaned and then the build up wasn't fully removed.
Once I had depleted the amount I had poured into the spray bottle I thought I would try the other option I had.
This was a CLR redo with 70% phosphoric acid I used it 10/1 as directed and WOW The results were instant. It removed all the build up in mere seconds, the first window took me 15 minutes with hard scrubbing with a white pad with the other stuff and this stuff sprayed on and wiped with a magic eraser and all the stain was gone, the rest of the 12 panes took me about 12 minutes to clean, compared to 15 minutes to clean 4(well actually 3 panes since the other pane needed to be lifted out and cleaned from the inside).
Here are some pics....

I really should have taken more pics of the staining.
