Where do you want to eat?

I recently had to go on a cross country trip and it got me to thinking that we could leverage WCR to figure out where the best places are to eat in various places. Or at least compile a list of "where the locals eat." Basically, help us find some non-chain local restaurants that you'd recommend in your areas of expertise.

Feel free to edit your listings and favorites as you discover better places to eat. The idea being that someone has one day in your town, where would you send them? I was in Tennessee briefly and had only one shot at finding a good bbq joint and what we found was not good bbq.

Albuquerque, NM:

New Mexican food: I'd recommend Sadies or Little Anitas. My personal favorite is Sadies. But watch out for the salsa, it'll burn your tongue out.

Fast food burger: Lotaburger is a local favorite throughout NM. Be sure to add green chile for some extra flavor.

Note: we specialize in green chile and we'll put it on anything.

Farmington, NM:

Breakfast: TJ's diner, it's always good.

New Mexican: Los Rios

BBQ: Serious Texas BBQ - their sauce took me a little getting used to but it's good food for the window cleaner on the go

Aztec, NM:

New Mexican: Rubios

Chinese: Wonderful House

Durango, CO:

Oscars diner has some great burgers and pretty much everything else (breakfast/lunch)

Old Timers is a pretty good all around lunch/dinner diner but tends to be slow

Steamworks Brewery is generally good and has a lunch special of chicken and waffles that will blow your mind.

Serious Texas BBQ (south) - they have the best portions and freshest grub

Cedar Rapids, IA:

Pizza: Zoey's in Marion - wicked awesome chicago style deep dish

Greenville, TX:

Tex-Mex: Tamales - I still dream of their monterey chicken and I could drink their salsa by the gallon
