How to transition from Trad to Water Fed Pole?

Here's a question for you!

Do you normally clean inside windows first, or outside windows first?

How frequently do you clean the customers windows?

Do you remove EVERY mark, EVERY time?

Are you a perfectionist?

I don't know the right answer for you to transition some or all your external window cleaning to Water Fed Pole work, but here are some starters, and I'm sure the thread can grow with questions and answers from members (I am a Water Fed Pole Manufacturer).

1. If you clean external windows first, you can see the level of optical clarity achieved with your water fed pole as you clean the inside. This assures you the ability to 'touch up' any marks that you are worried about.

This is all hypothetical - we know you can achieve a perfect clean using water fed window cleaning - but there is always a learning curve - see Water Fed Pole Training.

Please be assured that you can clean 2 x faster using a Water Fed Pole compared to using a Ladder, so you are 'ahead on time' for any touch-ups'

2. If you clean the customers windows regularly, you can certainly get the Water Fed Pole into action after the nose-to-glass service - whilst many have mastered 'first cleans' with water fed window cleaning, this thread is recognising the transition - the period of not knowing all the answers, and not letting your stamdards drop.

3. If you are a perfectionist, maybe you can assess the customers value of this and charge for it.

When we were window cleaning, I employed a very experienced window cleaner - an Italian guy, Pete - he called himself 'Pete, the Amazing Window Cleaner'. Slightly off topic, but an awesome story - when he arrived at the job, the customer would answer the doorbell, and Pete would greet them with

"Today is your lucky day!"

"?",

"I'm Pete, the Amazing Window Cleaner and I'm here to clean your windows!" Well - everyone loved him.

So Pete taught me an old trick - he called it 'glass restoration' - not like the current industry term - it went like this.

"Mrs Jones - I am a professional window cleaner and my tools are a T-Bar and a Squeegee. If your windows had been well maintained, I can get them clean but I have noticed permanent marks on your glass from (whatever - say painter roller overspray) and that means that your windows are not going to be perfectly clean. Now - what I can do, is offer you a 'glass restoration service' for just $1 a window, I will cut all the marks off the windows and bring them back to optical clarity - it will seem like they are invisible! Would you like me to proceed with that? "

70% people said 'Yes'!

So here is the point - you can possibly charge more for the perfect service - it's subjective, I know, but it worked for Pete, and I adopted it also!

4. One of the unspoken benefits of water fed window cleaning is the short induction period. You can train someone in a day to be 95% effective on residential work. This means that during the peak season, the crazy weeks, even a lone ranger window cleaner can add an offsider and near double his output - that means doubling his number of happy customers!

Last, but not least, it is completely proven now that Water Fed Pole Systems have drastically reduced the incidence of catastrophic accidents from working at heights. We have exhaustive information available to you at Introducing Power and Control including an undertaking to send you POWER and CONTROL Ergonomic Handles if you choose to invest in Reach-iT MINI or PRO.

You are many multiples safer using Water Fed Window Cleaning, and your concerns may not be as valid as you think.

What are your concerns about the transition ?

What were your experiences when you transitioned?
