chapter 11

I been cleaning windows for a Big name womens fashion clothing store for a year now, twice a month, fairly easy clean and very profitable.

This year they have been late on sending payments so I begin to wonder whats going on, nevertheless the payments do come so I continue to have confidence in them. I have not received May & June payment and yesterday I sent the July invoice on 7/17 while reminding them that May June is over due.

The accountant replys to me today saying that the company filed for bankruptcy on 7/16 and any invoices prior to that will not be paid. Im pretty pissed because if they knew of their financial hardships months ago wouldnt they have told me that they no longer can afford my services?

so i send them this email...

---------------------------------------

Hi ----- thanks for the info, hope things work out for you guys.

so to be clear...

1. May/June invoices will not be paid

2. July invoice will be paid

3. Did you still want me to continue with the window cleaning service from August and forward

---------------------------------------

their reply was..

---------------------------------------

"That is totally up to you.

As for the past invoices it is 99% chance they won’t be paid.

Any invoices from 07/16/14 are now protected under the chapter 11 and will be paid. So if you did August you would be paid as well as the July you will be. "

Anyone here deal with companys that go bankrupt, should I run away as fast as i can or still try to service them?

Like I said, their store is so easy to clean and the price is very profitable.
