So a few months ago I discover a new victim for thieves to target. Hows about work trucks/vans parked in drive way or on the street of clients home?
unfortunately I was the unexpected victim. I parked on a busy street in front of customers house and start to unload my cleaning tools. Walk in the home and start cleaning, over the next 30 minutes I make 2 or 3 trips back to the van to grab miscellaneous stuff. The thought never occurs to me that someone is scoping me out from a far and waiting for the perfect moment, I also am naive to think anything bad could happen so I do not lock my van.
about 20 minutes go by while im in the house and i return to the van to get a drink of water in my cooler. notice some things were misplaced and realize i just been robbed. the thief was in a rush and was looking for cash because nothing went missing except for my "money" pouch stashed away in between my seat and center console. Good thing for me I did not have any cash in that pouch, but I did have a check from a job I did the day before.
I canceled that check and added this to my list of learning experiences.
It makes sense though, I know a lot of handymen and carpenters that work for cash and carry wads of it in their wallets from jobs they do.
