Package Pricing?

Hey y'all, so I just read Built To Last by John Warrillow (definitely worth a read), and it got me thinking. The majority of us bid by pane, in my case $5 a window face. To do this, we gotta spend time estimating, haggling with the customer, and explaining our prices. Additionally, it creates the idea that we're selling services. The author claims service businesses are much harder to sell, which I'm inclined to agree with, although I've never sold a business.

Point is, wouldn't it be easier, and possibly more lucrative, to just sell packages (maybe non-negotiable)? I.e. small house: $100 exteriors, medium: $200 exteriors, large: $300 exteriors?

Any of y'all do this, or have read the book? Thoughts?
