Another newbee, now Dutch

Hi colleagues,

I am new to this forum. After window cleaning services as a part time job for some years together with a friend, i have recently started a glass scratch removal service in The Netherlands. We are using GlassRenu system and are quite satisfied. After one year we have a reasonable amount of work. I would have two questions for the forum:

- does anyone of you also provide nano glasscoating services? Which markets do you target?

- can we use our GlassRenu system for car windows: we are somewhat hesitant because of the possible distortion...

Help New to The Industry

Hello guys and gals. I'm new to the business. I am planning for something to do during my retirement years and thought that I might have been on to something by thinking of starting my very own window cleaning business. Boy was I shocked when I started to google information and I never realized how huge this industry is!

My concern is number one, of all the you tube videos I have seen, no one prefers one squeegee over the other but I guess for people who have just started like I am about to, which brand squeegee would you recommend?

My second concern is, how do I write up a bid to get new business? I have searched for templates but have not been successful. Thanks in advance and maybe in 3 to 5 more years, I will be able to share a few success stories!

Greasy Fingerprints / Superabrasive Solution

Just curious what everyone is using to bust those fingerprints at pizza restaurants.



I use a superabrasive based product in a bottle. Just a small squirt in the bucket and it knocks off all the prints so I don't have to go back and get them which wastes too much time. Great for route work in general. No chems. Not harsh on your skin. Can even be used with a mild coconut based amphoteric like cocamidopropylbetaine. The superabrasive knocks off the prints and the soap lifts them and adds slip to the blade. It will not make your solution bleed out as chems do.

Why no flex test between ReachIT Pro and Gardiners Extreme Pole.

This question has been asked so many times and not answered. Why not?



I have seen the test against the supermax but that is a lesser pole.



If the reachIT is just as good I will buy one tomorrow but i need to see as can't afford to buy the wrong one.



I need to make a purchase and these poles are not cheep.



I need the lightest stiffest pole for some of the jobs we do as a flexible pole just wont work.



Come on guys.. Someone do a test and show us the video.



With brushes and without We all want to know.

Question How would you clean this?

I clean the windows at a local community college and they keep adding new buildings that are more and more difficult. I am afraid I may have to decline after this newest addition. My biggest concern is the corner of glass that slopes outward. Not really sure how I am going to get to it on the inside. The room is going to be full of treadmills and other equipment also. The link should pull up a picture. Also any suggestions on how to price that kind of thing? I am mostly a residential cleaner and this college is by far my largest commercial job and I am not sure I am up to tackling it. I have a waterfed pole, but it only goes up to 35 ft.
