How cold is too cold?
So, I was doing storefronts over the holiday weekend, and it was cold. Teens and low twenties with snow blowing sideways. Do most of you still get out and work when your gear is coated in ice, and your step keeps sliding down the hill while you're on it?
My pole was glazed in ice, and eventually the squeegee handle froze to the end of the pole and broke.
Does straight windshield fluid clean well? I was using a 50/50 mix.
I also want the sun to stay up longer. I have issues with detailing when it's dark. It's hard getting a full day in, and don't like being in someone's house after dark. It just feels weird even if they don't have a problem with it.
What are your methods to get work done and survive the winter? 95% of my window work is residential, but being new, I don't have the acorns to get through winter.
Winter rookie here...

Help Looking for suggestions on a few things....
So I recently moved to Phoenix from Fort Worth Texas. I am now working on 1 story residential homes. My questions are. .
What's a good squeegee for fanning? My boss prefers i use an 18" squeegee. Glass obviously dries quickly.... Brings me to my next question; what mop do you suggest for residential homes?
My last question is about screens. Should I use a brush before I spray them to get the dirt off... Or just spray, then soap, tgen rinse?
Any help would be great.

What's the best way to clean double glazed windows in cucumber?
I have a quote to do next week in regards to 4 cabins that need CCU. They have double glazing. Some windows apparently are 6 metres high! I need to know what is the best method of cleaning these types of windows? Can I use a scraper? Are double glazed normally inside or both sides?
Do the prices go higher for these windows in CCU?
Thanks everyone who can help, really appreciate it. 😎
Lol just realised that cucumber showed up in the headline. I typed ccu and the abbreviation came through as cucumber.... My apologies.

Before dusk pic
*correction: before dawn
My business partner snapped this pic right before we did a drop on a 10 story building in downtown Detroit. We had to do the drop before 7:30 because it was right over the building entrance and thats when people started coming in.
We finished the job just in time, they wanted it done before the Thanksgiving parade the next day.

Google sues Local Lighthouse telemarketers
FINALLY!
Apparently there's one guy at the top of all the "SEO" firms that call incessantly.
We've noticed a serious drop in robocalls lately. The ones that do get through have changed from "Sharon, your local Google specialist" and 'You Google listing is incomplete and will be suspended" to "We can help you reach page one of Google".
I hope Google nails this guy to the wall. No matter how deep his pockets and legal funds are, Google's are deeper lol

I just got some scrims from here, and they're huge.
Do most of you use them whole, or cut and hem them?
This is my first time trying them out, and the thing says "laundered", but seems like they need to be broken in after splashing some water on my bathroom mirror and trying to dry it.
I hope they last longer than my see-thru hucks.

Whats your most profitable service?
We are primarily a window cleaning that also offers house washing, gutter cleaning, and roof cleaning. I guess I say we are primarily a window cleaning company because we did more window cleaning jobs than any other service this year. But as I sit and look at our crew hour times and what service was most profitable, window cleaning was at the bottom of the list. Gutter cleaning is by far our most profitable service. Im curious what your most profitable service is and what that looks like per crew hour for your company

Quick talk podcast
I'm just finishing up listening to this podcast, and I love it. I listen to a lot of podcasts and usually most podcasts that deal with our business or general business practices are either way to short to be bothered with (1-5 min) or don't have much to do with our type of business. i loved listening to a podcast that's over an hour and has to do with window cleaning. I look forward to future episodes, I don't know what they're planning but i love the guest interview/conversation style and hope they have more.

Photoshop Template Question
I've recently had my Hard Drive fail on me.. not fun, lost a lot of files..
So I was running a cracked version of photoshop CS3, but I dont want to pay the huge amount of money it costs to run a proper version.
So does anyone know if Photoshop Elements can modify the .psd marketing templates available from WCRA that i have previously downloaded?

Anybody do snow removal? I did it last year and an doing it again this year, I bought a cheap paddle wheel style blower last year. It works well until the snow gets thick and wet. DIY Soft House Washing As An Add On?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I came across some instructions for building a DIY Softwash House Washing Set Up. It basically uses a +/20 gal Utility/ Chemical sprayer and a 10 Ft. extension wand for applying the chemical to the house siding, which is then rinsed afterwards.
What do you think of using this for now, until I can save up for a more advanced 4 GPM+ system that can handle everything?
