Just wanted to share a positive experience I've had with with fliers. The point is not to work out ROI, or own $ labor spent delivering, etc. I've trudged my fair share of miles for days and got zero. It's about what can happen, and leveraging it to the max, hopefully.
One Sunday morning I had a spare hour while my daughter was at basketball training. I was in an area I don't normally service, but I decided to do a walk around. Dropped about 200 fliers, mix of high end apartments and businesses.
Two weeks later get a call from a Real Estate agent from that area. He wanted his and an apartment he was selling cleaned. Small places, so easy as 2 x $150.
Then he passes my number on to his neighbour. Another $150. But even better, while cleaning the outside with wfp, a passerby asks for my card - 'Ive just bought a home near here, 2 storey, can you do that after I move in?' Sure no probs, call when you're ready I say.
6 months later, she calls, ready for a quote. $750 - 'sure, come next week, then every 3 months; oh and would you be interested in cleaning our restaurant and motel?'
Quoted it around $1500 - 'great, when can you do it'
Result so far from 1 hr walk - $2700.
Yeah, a bit lucky I suppose, but it wouldn't have happened if I'd sat in the car reading the newspaper, like I planned to do. So I now make sure I have fliers in both cars, and drop 50 - 100 at a time if convenient. And it was nothing special, just a basic A5 glossy info flier with no call to action, with a few color pics. So, hopefully this gives some of you who are unsure of fliers a bit of motivation. I don't slam out thousands of fliers a month, but I always have some on hand.
